March 26, 2003 :: Responses to the commentary
The email responses are running roughly 2 to 1 against me. NPR says that's actually quite positive, because usually only the really really angry people bother to write. So if a fair number of folks are bothering to write because they strongly agree, that's unusual. I will take comfort in that.
Interestingly, among the favorables, are many people over 60 who specifically mention that they remember the McCarthy era. Worth noting, no?
